Dr Kate Hartcher

Kate is a scientific officer for farm animals at RSPCA Australia in the organisation’s science and policy team, specialising in poultry and pigs. She has a degree in animal science, and a PhD in poultry behaviour and welfare.

Kate represents the RSPCA on national animal welfare issues, and is responsible for providing high-quality evidence-based information, advice and comment on farm animal welfare issues to government, industry and the public, and is involved in the development of RSPCA policies and Approved Farming Scheme Standards.
